Proud to support Sheringdale PTA.

Hopefully we are all settled back in to the ‘normal’ routine and the kids are enjoying being with their friends. There is lots going on this term and the PTA is working on a number of fun initiatives for our families to enjoy.

SAVE THE DATE! We will be holding the PTA AGM on Monday 18 October at 8pm in the dining hall. For those that can’t make it in person we will also be live streaming it via Zoom.

New Parents Coffee Morning

To help all our new families (and any existing parents) get to know the PTA we will be holding a coffee morning – details to follow.

Please do come along find out more about what we do and how you can get involved.

Fancy Dress Friday

On Friday 22nd October, the children are invited to dress up for the day to celebrate the end of the Autumn half term.  The children can dress up in their scariest costume, be a princess or superhero for the day or come to school in whatever fancy dress they like.

Reading Library

The Sheringdale Community Library is up and running on Pirbright Road. Our little library celebrates the joy of reading and is open to all children. Here’s how it works:

  • browse the collection of inspiring books
  • take whatever catches your eye
  • bring the book back or pass it on to a friend
  • contribute with other titles that you loved.

The best books are shared.

Have you discovered a fantastic book in our little library on Pirbright Road? Write or draw a short review of this must-read book, and you could win one pack of inspiring titles to keep the reading magic going!

Please send your review (as a pdf or jpg) to sheringdalepta@gmail.com by 22 November. You can use the form available here or make your own but don’t forget to mention your name and year group.

All the reviews will enter a prize draw that will take place on 1 December. Five lucky winners will each receive one pack of books.

Map Skills Workshops

The PTA will be funding a map skills workshop taking place on 30 June & 12 July. Organised by Year 4 teacher, Mr Sleet, all children in the school will be taking part in these workshops with Active Outdoor Discovery – find out more here.

The session will be delivered by a real expedition leader, Adrian Hall, who will captivate our children with tales of travel from the parched Namib Desert to the frozen Arctic sea ice, from the steaming jungles of Borneo to lofty Andean peaks, from the endless African savannah to the amazing Galapagos Islands.

The Sheringdale Parent Teachers Association (PTA) is a registered charity (1168706) with an annually elected committee, who meet regularly over the course of the year, running fundraising events which support initiatives raised by the school and parents to benefit our children.
